WCW DVD
Starrcade is basically the equivalent of WWE’s Wrestlemania and NFL’ s Superbowl. It is the flagship PPV show for WCW every year since 1983. The short documentary covers the idea behind the creation of the event to the different main event and rivalries of the past. It also briefly covers how Vince McMahon effected the show at one point, to why Starrcade lost it’s appeal over the years and it ended with the legacy Starrcade left behind . Overall, a brief but interesting documentary about the event.

Most of these matches are very solid and represent the event pretty well. These are the top 25 matches voted by the fans and it is nice to see WWE pay tribute to WCW/NWA since it is something they don’t do very often. Some fans might note that the order is not by dates, but that is exactly the way WWE intended since these matches were ranked by the vote order of the fans.
Highlights of the dvd and my favorites include Ric Flair vs. Vader, Flair vs. Harley Race, Sting vs. Flair, Flair, vs Dusty Rhodes, Sting vs. Vader, Barry Windham & Brian Pillman vs. Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas.
Despite a strong list of matches, the Hogan and Piper match and the Hogan and Sting match should never have been included since they were so over hyped for an aging Hogan, Piper, or Sting to pull off. These two matches have the best buildups in WCW history but was a total letdown.
But in the end, WWE did a great job on the compilation of this WCW dvd set. If you are a old timer or just feeling nostalgic, or even a new fan that wanted to relieve the good old days, then this set is a must in your collection.
